I've been using Joomla for a long time now but there is one thing I have never been successful at. Redirecting the user to another page after login. They always end up on the User Profile page.
I have reviewed the documentation, looked at every post and article I can Google and they all say the same thing. Go to the module and select where you want the user to be redirected after login. It just doesn't do it!
Has anyone successfully redirected a user after login to anywhere other than the User Profile page using core Joomla? I'd like to know how you do it.
I use the following approach. Login is not visible in the main menu. You login using a URL and then an Admin menu and the Logout become visible. The redirect I want to do is to the site Home page (menu item to Featured Articles).
This isn't a show stopper by any means. It just annoys the heck out of me!
