Have a number of "Private Messages" under "Components / Messaging" that I can not delete.

Have a number of "Private Messages" under "Components / Messaging" that I can not delete.
That site is J3.9.1. and updated in all parts.
On another site that is J3.9.0. it works to remove these messages.
How do I solve this problem?
